(Received 3.15 p.m.) London, March 19. The Admiralty announces that the British i Battleships Irresistible and Ocean, and the French battleship Bouvet, were mined and sank in the Dardanelles. The Inflexible was damaged. -. * ■ Tlio Irresistible belongs to the second fleet and is attached to the fifth battle squadron, under the command of Vice-Admiral Sir C. Burney. She is a ship of 15,000 tons, with a speed of 18| knots, and carried an armament of 4 12-inch and 12 6-inch guns. Her captain was S. Hawke. She is a sister ship to the Formidable, which was sunk in January. The Ocean is attached to the Third Fleet (eighth battle squadron), of 12,950 tops, 18| knots, four 12-inch and twelve 6-inch guns (Commander W. Woodward), The Bouvet belongs to the preDreadnought class of 12,000 tonners, with a speed of 18 knots, her armament being two 12-inch and two 10.8-inch guns. The Inflexible is the flagship of the Second Battle Cruiser Squadron under the command of Sir A. B. Milne. Tonnage 17,’250; .speed 27 knots, armament 8 12-inch guns.
