Some of the soldiers sent back from Egypt for misconduct are applying to be re-enlisted, but were informed they would not be re-enlisted under any consideration. THE CALDWELL CUN. MELBOURNE MECHANIC’S SUCCESSFUL INVENTION. (Received 10.10 a.m.) Melbourne, March 20. Advices received state the Caldwell machine gun was sold to a London linn for £55,000, and royalty on all guns produced. Substantial orders are anticipated from the Rritish Government, and it is claimed that the gun is likely to displace the Maxim. The inventor is a Melbourne mechanic.
