THE “HYMN OF HATE.” BRITAIN’S ACTIONS UPHELD BY GERMAN PROFESSOR. Per Press Association. Amsterdam, March 16. Herr Lissaur is touring Germany declaiming the “Hymn of Hate.’ ■’ Dr. Lindauer, in a pamphlet published in Vienna, says, that the allegation that England desired a world war is not proved. He cites a series of crises settled owing to Britain’s efforts, and quotes Herr von Bethmann-Holwcg’s recognition of this. Those acquainted with the English will never believe that they would become criminal against themselves or humanity. The Vorwaerts says the pamphlet is worthy of attention because Dr. Linda uer approves the Austro-Gorman standpoint in tire war.
COMMERCIAL SCANDAL HUSHED UP. (Received 10.20 a.m.) Atlieus, March 17. The Leipzig newspaper accused three German firms of swindling the War Office, hut the Government is not prosecuting the editor, tearing an extension of the scandal. The sum of one hundred million marks was involved. WHO CAUSED THE WAR? Times and Sydney Sun Service. (Received 8.0 a.m.) London, March 17. Dr. Heft'erucli, in the Reichstag, said: “We can’t refrain from making our enemies pay the loss caused to Germany, as this war was commenced by our enemies.’’
