THE. RETURNED TROOPERS.
Dunedin, March 16. Of the returned troopers from Egypt, ten who deserted at Albany were sent north this morning. Prior to their departure, some excitement was caused by one member trying to make his escape from the Central battery. He was caught in an hotel. The other two members who had been brought back on account of misconduct in Egypt have been discharged, as they had received punishment for their offence by • the military authorities in Egypt.. Of. the 22 invalided soldiers who were admitted to Dunedin hospital, five have been discharged from the institution as totally recovered. These meir are, to be sent home on leave. Thirteen are detained in hos-pital-and one stmt for special treatment. None of the case; are associated with diseases that'have been the occasion of so much talk.
