"STOWED AWAY" AND DIED.

': Lieutenant Kazter a German military officer, who was brought from lla T haul, somehow managed to get aboard the steamer Sonoma, and stowed away in a lifeboat, the cover of which was securely laced. Though a careful search' was made before sailing, he was undiscovered until the vessel was running down the harbour. When groans were heard, and the place was examined, Katzer was found in a fainting condition, and he succumbed to heat apoplexy. Apparently ho had the assistance of an accomplice in stowing away.
