NEW ZEALAND ROLL OF HONOR. KILLED AT THE FRONT. NEW ZEALANDERS WHO HAVE FALLEN IN ACTION. DULCE ET DECORUM EST PRO PATRIA MORI. The following are the names of New Zealanders who have been killed on active service since the outbreak of the war. The list (which was Compiled by the Auckland "Star") also contains the names of a number of men, who though actually not New Zealanders, have been intimately connected with the Dominion:—

j Andrews, Lieutenant F.G., 4th attalion King's Loverpool Regiment, killed in action, November (Christchurch).

Bainbridge, Private William, 2ml King's Royal Rifles, killed in action, January 10th, north of Fiance.

Chapman, Lieutenant K.W.. 3rd Dragoon Guards, mentioned in dispatches for conspicuous bravery, and killed in action, November ISth (Chfistchurch).

Donovan. Private William, Ist Devonshire Regiment, died from wounds received in the battle of the Aisne (South Dunedin). Gale, John, killed in action Longido (German Last Africa), on January 28th (Kaikoura). Garcia, Lieutenant 0. D. M., Ist Battalion Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry, died of wounds received in the battle of the Aisne (Christchurcb). Gee, Second Lieutenant R. F. M., Wiltshire Regiment. wounded in France, and died in Nctley Hospital (Wellington).

lies, Surgeon-Lieutenant C. C, R.A.M.C. died of wounds. December 24th (Gishorne).

Macarthur Onsnoy, Captain A. W., 16th Lancers, killed in action near Ypres on November 11th; formerly instructor in New Zealand Defence Forces.

MacDougall, Captain J., Grenadier Guards, killed in action (aide-de-camp to" Governor of New Zealand, 1913).

Maidlow, Major J.S., Royal Artillery, killed in action.

Masefield, Major Robert, Shropshire Light Infantry, killed in action on October 24th (Akaroa).

Mathieson, Lieutenant Kenneth R., Irish Guards, killed in action near Ypres, on November Ist (Marton).

McDonald, Alister, killed in action near Antwerp (Bulls). ■ McXab, Surgeon Captain Angus, London Scottish Regiment, killed in action (Southland).

Rawlins, Corporal G. E. C, 28th County of London Regiment (Artists' Rifles), killed on December 11th while ' cutting enemy's barbed wire entanglements, a task for which he volunteered (Tuapeka). Russell, Captain W. R. Northamptonshire Begiment, killed in action October 23rd (Hawke's Bay). Steele, Captain Oliver, Royal Berkshire Regiment, killed in action, October 25th (Auckland). Tait, William, King's Own Scottish Borderers, killed in action in Europe. Tayler, Second Lieutenant E. H., Ist Battalion York and Lancaster Regiment, died in Hazebrouck Hospital of pneumonia, February 9th (Auckland). :

Thomson, Lieutenant K. S., Bengal Cavalry, killed in action in Peivia (Wanganui.) Todd, J. and S., killed in action in Europe on January 19th (Mata.iui, Gisborne).

Watts, Captain C. H. R., 2nd Battalion Northamptonshire Regiment, killed in action in December (Nelson). THE NAVAL FORCES. The following were killed while serving with the naval forces: — distance, Dr. G. W. M., drowned in loss of H.M.S. Ha.wke.

-Dawson,- William., -able -seaman, drowned on loss of H.M.S. Hawke. Knowles, William Edward, H.M.S. Philomel, killed in action on February Bth, with a landing party. Moreton, John Thomas, seaman, H.M.S. Philomel, killed in action on February Bth with a landing party. Powell, William Oliver, stoker petty officer, killed in loss of H.M.S. Bulwark (Wellington). Reardon, seaman, lost with H.M. Australian submarine AEI.

Staubury, William, H.M.S. Philomel, wounded in action on February Bth with a lauding party, and died shortly afterwards. Woodland, seaman, lost with H.M. Australian submarine AEI. NEW ZEALAND FORCE.

The following members of the New Zealand expeditionary forces have met their deaths on service outside the Dominion :

Bell, Surgeon Captain,, J. A. Terras, Mounted Field Ambulance, died in Abassia Hospital on December 29th (Christchurch).

Burlinson, Private G. V., Cyclist Corps, Wellington Mounted Rifles, died on January Bth at Cairo, from injuries caused by falling from a horse (Levin). Campbell, Private Malcolm, Okato Mounted Regiment, died at sea on

January 10th, from pneumonia (,Gis-

borne). Cooper, Private A. G., 9th Hawke's Bay Company, Wellington Infantry Battalion, died on December 2Gth, in Abassia Hospital, from pneumonia.

Cnlpan, Private R. Gv, Ist Battalion Australian expeditionary force, died in Egypt in December from anaemia (Auckland).

Gilchrist, Lance-Corporal John N.Z.M.C, died at sea of ptomaine poisoning on October 25th (Gore). Ham, Private W., died of wounds received on February 3rd, at Serapeiim (Motueka).

Rayheld, Private H. C, Canterbury Infantry Regiment, died of pneumonia in Egypt on January loth. Webb, Lieutenant E. J. H.,' N.Z.M.C, Wellington Battalion, New Zealand expeditionary force, died on November 14th, from accidental injuries received at sea (Dunedin). Yoxhall, Private F., New Zealand expeditionary force (British section), died at Alexandria of meningitis, December 27th.
