Perie Carpenter, aged 171 years, ol Grand Road, Wellington, who was visiting friends at Hastings, was killed instantly yesterday afternoon. She and her cousin, Mina Carpenter, double-banked a horse, which bucked ~ind threw both girls. Perie landed on her head and broke her neck. The oilier girl escaped with a badly bruisjd hip.
