ACKLAND ROAD PICNIC.
Although the weather was not particularly inviting, there was a good attendance of parents and friends .it the Ackland Road School Picnic on Thursday last. The sports, which created much interest, resulted as follows :

The Taranaki, Education Board wore represented by Messrs H. Trimble (chairman)) R- Masters and F. Mackay (who is chairman of the Ackland Road School Committee), and their presence was mncli appreciated. The committee are grateful to the ladies who supplied the eatables, and especially to Mr R. Savage, who purchased the cakes.

Mr F. -Vtackay, as chairman of the School Committee, introduced Mr H. Trimble, who expressed his pleasure at being present, and then distributed the prizes, which were won as follows :
Sewing prizes (presented by Mis Frank Mackay), were awarded to Belle Knox and Alice Oldridge. Garden prizes (presented by Mrs G. Knox), Ada Luuiscleu and John Tocker.

Altogether a thoroughly enjoyable day was spent, and as the proceeds are to be devoted to the Belgian Relief Fund, it is expected that at least £ls will be forwarded to the credit of that fund.
