THE HOME MISSSON FUND.

Afc the Methodist Conference to-day Mi- J. Veale presented the balancesheet of the Home Mission Fund. This showed that the income last year was £5605, and the expenditure was £5415. Estimates for the current year were: Income £5792, expenditure £5978 Ms, a deficit of £2(56 14s. On the motion of Rev. G. Bond, the chairman of the committee, the best thanks of the conference were presented to Mr Veale for his able services during the past five years'. "He voiced the great obligation of the conference to Mr Veale for his services, and sincere regret that he has found it necessary to resign. The Rev. G. Bond was unanimously appointed general treasurer to the fund, and Mr J. Veale honorary treasurer.

In further dealing with the extension of the term of ministerial appointments, the Rev. C. H. Laws moved, "That the majority required t° carry such appointments in conference be reduced to 55 per cent." This was carried by 141 to 4. A special Committee of Complaints and Appeals was set up to deal with an urgent case of discipline.
