FALL OF CONSTANTINOPLE ONLY A QUESTION OF TIME.

GUNS AND MEN FROM SYRIA AND

ARMENIA.

Times and Sydney Sun Service. (Received 8 a.m.) Loudon, March 4. The Austro-German newspapers admit it is only a question of time before Constantinople succumbs. It is reported that all available guns are going to Constantinople from all parts of Turkey, and that the best troops are being hurried from Syria and Armenia.

A Constantinople message states: Halef Bet, President of the Chamber of Deputies, announced that the Ottoman troops have exhausted the Russian army in the Caucasus, crossed the Sue/.. Canal, and having fulfilled their tasks, returned, and are perfecting' their positions. They will shortly release Egypt from the tyranny of the enemy and turn the British out of Asiatic Turkey. The bombardment of the Dardanelles was rosultless, and probably the enemy would not como through the strait, adding that if he did, ho would find the greatest part of the Turkish army gathered there. Another message states that Djemil Pasha has been recalled from Egypt to supervise the defence of Constantinople.

The Daily Mail's Copenhagen correspondent reports that news has been received in Berlin that tho Turks are very short of big gun ammunition, and that the Austriaiis are rushing supplies to Constantinople.
