[from our own correspondent.! Whangamomoua was blessed with a perfect day for the annual sports meeting on Friday, 26th tilt. Everything went witbo.u|, kf a'hitcli, thanks to the energetic who one and all worked hard for the success of the meeting. The fact that most of the finishes were so close that in no case were the first and second men separated by more than a yard, and tn one case a dead heat, speaks well for the local handicappers. A first-class luncheon was provided on the ground by Mrs G. T. Perrott, and all round, everything was present to ensure a good day for spectators. Mr J. B. Hine motored out to the gathering. • The following are the detailed results of the sports:— Novice Chop (local.— J. Rothery 1, W. Harris and H. Anderson (dead heat) 2.
