ANNUAL CONFERENCE. J'eh Puksb Association. Christchurch, March 1. The Methodist Conference to-day considered the question of the appointment of a Dominion Secretary for Foreign Missions. A most animated debate took place, and a vote resulted in tlie proposal being postponed for another year. The Rev. W. Slade is the minister to lie appointed. The conference committee on military affairs recommended the Rev. W. Walker (Dunedinj for appointment as permanent military chaplain to the forces at Trentham, which was agreed to unanimously. The requests of the following ministers to become permanent supernumeraries were granted: Revs. G. Bond, T. G, Carr, Joseph Sharp, Joseph J. Mather, H. R. Dewsbury, Cornelius Griffin. Rev. Lewis Hudson returns to circuit work. Rev. G. Bond presented the report of the Home Mission Committee, recommending the continuance of tbe office of Home Mission Secretary. On a vote being taken, the resolution was I carried by 107 to Jl.
