TAUMARUNUI’S MEMBER STIRS
UP THE AUTHORITIES.

Concerning matters brought before him by the Olmra Settlers and the Stratford Chamber of Commerce recently, Mr W. T. Jennings, M.P., has received replies from the Minister of Public Works that the road matters would receive bis attention, and that reports were being asked for. The matter of telephone'comiection between Tatu and Tahora was referred to the Postmaster-General.
Recognising the great importance of the delay in the work at the OkallUkura tunnel, owing to the contractor abandoning and dismissing the men, Mr Jennings has sent an urgent request to the Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Works over this serious matter. It is expected that work will he resumed when all accounts are adjusted.
