A Napier Press Association telegram this morning states: A largelyattended meeting of the Napier and Waipukurau'bfanch of the Engine Drivers', Fire'rheiis', and Cleaners' Association, 'passed a resolution asking their Executive Council- •to impress upon the Government the urgent necessity of giving effect to Parliament's recommendation to increase the rate of pay.
To-night at His Majesty's Picture Theatre will ■ be shown remarkable photo-plays of the Al' standard.' The star picture is Lubin's latest pathetic .drama, entitled "The Inspector's Story," a modern American narrative concerning the fearful development of drink.
