Delightful weather is being experienced for the first day of the Woodville Autumn Meeting, the attendance is large. Results:— Plato, 6 furlongs.—Mar tyres s 1, Thoughtful 2, Blacking 3. Scratched: llongamo, Try Hard. Silverdale was left at the post. Won easily by a couple of lengths. Time Imin 15 3tssecs.
Hack vis 1, Ascalon 2, The Diver 3. All started. A good race. Won on the post bj half a head, five lengths between second and third. Time 3min 23 4.ssecs.
Wharite Hack, of seven furlongs.— Janitor 1, Merrie Gain 2, Blackall 3. Scratched; Sajrtova, Sarbonite. A good race. Won by half a length. Time,*. lmin ( 29 3-ssec,
WoodviUe Cup, 1 mile and a quarter —Sir Alba 1, Hiwitapu 2, Sir Donald 3. Scratched: Midnight Star. A great race, but won easily by a length, half a length separating second and third horses. Time, 2min 9sec. —»— DUNEDIN RACES. Dunedin, February 17. The weather is fine but dull for the opening; day of the Dunedin Jockey Club’s Autumn Meeting, The attendance is good. Results:— Hurdles.—Andrea 1, Stone Ginger 2, Castiron 3. Scratched: Cyra. Won by a length and a-half. Time, 2min 42sec.
Gladbropk Handicap,—Wild Pilgrim 1. AH Ready 2, Roumania 3. Scratched : Marvellite, Dorothy Perkins. Won ■by two lengths. Champagne Stakes.—Adjutant 1, Snub 2, Recorder 3. All started. Won b” T a lone nock.
