COPPER CARGO DISCOVERED IN NEUTRAL VESSEL.
(Received 1.50 p.m.) London, February 17
A Neutral vessel was stopped in the North Sea and her papers showed she was cotton-laden. However, the naval officers’ suspicions were aroused owing to her heavy draught, and a search revealed 800 tons of copper. EXPLOIT OF THE B 11. According to news received in Malta of the torpedoing of the Messudiyeh, Submarine 81l penetrated more than half-way up the Dardanelles. She was detected immediately after discharging her torpedo, and was pursued until she regained the entrance.— Reuter. ’
All the Petfograd newspapers made a feature of the Dardanelles exploit of submarine B 11. The “Novoe Vremya” remarks that the pluck shown by the crew of the submarine is one more proof that the. sea. is the native element of the British. - The crew went to almost certain death, and the feat will shine in history as the sun on the horizon.—Reuter. ■ < n
