Mr Holman, the Premier, has rccei. ved further detectives’ reports on bribery rumours in connection w Hi the Wheat Acquisition Act for Cauiuet consideration. There will probably be an appointment of a Royal Commission of Inquiry. Before the > Inter-State Commission, counsel submitted argument against the contention that the WheatAcquisition Act was intended to benefit New South Wales alone, and that that State had no power to legislate for the benefit of other States. Decision was reserved.
Mr Holman has received the thanks of the Belgian Ministry for the latest Australasian instalment for the Belgian relief fund, including the Auckland and Christchurch contributions.
