MOTOR-CAR FATALITY. Per Press (Association. Gisborne, February 15. At the inquest on Snowic Howie, who died through a motor-car knocking him down on Gladstone Hoad on Saturrday, the jury returned a verdict that the accident was directly due to the driver, Paku Peakman, losing his nerve and becoming confused by the fact of having collided with a cyclist just previously. THE GISBORNE RING FATALITY. Gisborne, February 15. The inquest on the lad Forman, who died after the boxing contest, is not concluded. The evidence showed that deceased had never had a day’s illness, and that he died as the result of a clot of blood in the motor area of the brain.
Counsel tor deceased’s mother questioned the wisdom of allowing a youth of only 16 years to compete in heavyweight hoxing championships.
