TARANAKI WOOL, SKIN, HIDE AND TALLOW SALES.
NEWTON KINO'S REPORT.
On Wednesday, February 10th, 1 held my monthly sale of above produce to a large attendance of buyers. The catalogue comprised 1 6
bales and 213 sacks of wool, 1696 sheepskins, 9 casks and id t ”s ta 1 - Imv. 617 hides, and 623 calfskins. Competition was keen in all lines submitted, with a still further advance on every kind of produce, and I congratulate growers on the high price now ruling for their wool. The prices obtained wore right up to those ruling in the large centres. Cow hides sold as high as lljjd per lb. I quote; Wool.—Fleece advanced 2d per lb, lambs l;{d, lambs heavy in -eed ave difficult to sell, and are affected to the extent of 2d to 3d per l'>. Medium crossbred lid to 11 Lb coarse l()£d to lOjfd, dingy and seedy 6;,bl to 9§d, scoured 13d, pieces 7d to Bf*i. crutchings 7-jcl to in sacks t'fleece) 9Jd to lid, lambs 8d to I Dipl, dead 8d to 9Jd, crutchings 7VJ to 7;Jd, pieces 61d, locks Id to 6,id.
