EXPLOSION IN A TUNNEL.
COVERED BY PAPA ROCK.
KNOCKED DOWN BY TRAIN.

While William Copelad and William Dennis, two miners, were employed on the Parnell tunnel, a shot was fired at the other end, only a few feet of papa rock separating the two parties of workmen. Both men were hurled against the timber supports and were covered with papa rock. They were removed to the hospital, being severely bruised, but no bones were broken.
Joseph Symonds, a married man, also employed in the tunnel working, was knocked down by a passing train, and had his hip fractured.
