At tho New Zealand Amateur Championship Swimming Carnival, held in the Municipal Baths yesterday afternoon, in the Ladies’ 100yds Championship, Miss Farquhar lowered the New Zealand record by 3 3-ssec.. tho previous record being Blsec., put up by Miss Annie O’Leary, who, until Saturday, was tho holder, of tho championship. C. Atkinson, winner of the 200 metres breast stroke championship, was only 4 l-sscc. over the world’s record time. Nelson swam tho mile w ithin a minute of the New Zealand champion’s record time.
