The Death Sentence.
ROTTMAN FOUND GUILTY.
PRISONER ACCEPTS THE SITUA-
TION CALMLY.
Per Press Association. Wanganui, February 13. In the murder case, the jury retired at 12.45 p.m., returning at 2.10 with a verdict of ‘‘Guilty.”
His Honor, Mr Justice thapman, who said the, verdict was entirely justified,
then passed sentence of death, saying that the matter would come under the notice of the Governor, but that he could hold out no hope of a reprieve.
Prisoner accepted the situation calmly, saying he had a fair trial, but had no recollection of committing the crime.
