The brood mare Gallantry, owner' in Taranaki for some years, has been re-purchased by her breeder, Sir George Clifford, and has gone south. Gallantry, who was bred in 1903, is by Clanranald—Goldleaf, so that she is a.'half-sister to Autumnus. She is probably considered of special' value on account of her pedigree containing a strain of Stonyhurst, while she has already proved herself successful as a matron, having produced Toa Tere to., the Soult horse Maniapoto.
