AMUSEMENTS.
HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE. "The Angel of Contention," was the head-liner on last night's programme. It is a beautiful story of the Western American gold fields in 'l9. It is dear and full of pathos and wit. A very clever and novel picture was that mtitled "Heez-a-Liar's Adventures in Vfrica," pictured by the well-known irtist, William Bray. This film introluces something new, and brings forth i hearty laugh. "Pathe's War Gaz'tte" is, as usual, full of war-time events, including a '>g naval funeral, transport train leavi, for the front, our big ironclads on t». look-out, the British submarine that sunk the Hela, the plucky Belgians building a >ridge in the barbarian's tracks, and others. All the pictures are of high .tandard. To-night, for this night only, the "Big Battle Before Antwerp" ■nil be screened. This picture comes direct from the front and is the very latest in war pictures.. To-morrow night ail all new programme will be screened.
