SWIMMING.

A fair number of swimming enthusiusts gathered at the Baths on Tuesday evening to witness the first race for “The Masters’ Cup.” ' The distance was !5() yards, and considering that this was the first race of the season the handicapping was good and several keem finishes were seen. Twelve swimmers stepped out, and after three heats and two semi-finals had been completed, the final well to E. W. Kivell (osec), 1 ; 0. M. Kivell (Isec), 2; 1).. Thurston 3. The next race .(75yds) is to be swam on Thursd ayal'ternoon next, anc? all enthusiasts (including ladies) are cordially invited.
