According to a report from Amsterdam, German soldiers passing through Bruges the other day substituted the following song—which is probably characteristic of their feelings since their repulse on the Yser —lor the famous “Deutschland über Alles” : “Gloria! Gloria! wir wollen uach Hause geheu! Gloria! Gloria! In der Heimat, soil kein Kreig mehr seiu ’ (Glory! Glory! we want to go home. Glory! Glory! at home there will be war no more.”) They are finding it “a long, long way to Calais.”')
