NEWTON KING’S REPORT. On Monday, Ist hist., for my Douglas sheep lair and cattle sum, 1 had a heavy entry, and buyers were oresent from all parts of the d'.str ci. Competition throughout was spirited, all lines with the exception of two pens of sheep being cleared at the hammer. I had a special entry of ewes and lambs on account of Messrs Budge and Good, which vere mostly good sheep, hut through having in.-t bhen shorn and having had several days’ yarding and driving wore looking very tired, but this did ' ot stop buyers, who hit! freely, the whole of these vendors’ sheep being sold at the following prices: 4-tooth • wes 15s 7d, 6-tooth ewes los -Id, 1-yoar-oM ewes 12s lid, lambs, tops 10s 2d. s; conds 8s lOd, culls os 2d and 5- Vd, cull ewes 9s 8d to 11s 9d. Other prices were, 4 and 6-tooth ethers 17s 7d, a nice line of 4-tooth o' v es. lately shorn, made 17s 10(1, fat ones 16s to 17s, 2-tooth wethers from 1 Is lid to 16s Id, 2 and 4-tooth ewes (rather small) 14s lid, f.m. ewes from 7s for poor to 12s 9d for the better class, the average prices 1 mg 11s 6(1, lambs second quality Bs, culls 3s 6d to 7s Id, rough yearling steers £2 14s 6cl, 18-month heifers JMV.B.) with some color £3 Gs.
