ASHORE IN THE MUD.

ITALIAN SHIP'S MISHAP. Per Pkess [Association. Thames, February 5. The Italian ship, Furasia, in command of Captain Alivaria, bound for Belfast from Auckland, via Monte Video, tonnage 1.742, went ashore on a mud flat opposite Thames, westward of the Piako River at ten o'clock last night. The cause of the mishap was that the compass was out of order. No damage or loss is likely, as the ship is in soft mud, but she may be detained for some days while tug assistance is being sought. The vessel left Auckland yesterday morning.
