FOOTPADS ATTACK CHINESE.
Wong Kay, an elderly Chinese, had an unpleasant encounter with two footpads in Coulhurn Street, on Tuesday night. Kay, who had come to Sydney from Tam worth, brought £75 with him. Fortunately, ho left £7O in the custody of a friend, and hid the live pound note in his clothing. Consequently, when he was attacked, the footpads only secured a metal watch and chain. Kay was picked up in an unconscious condition by Traffic-constable Hear, and convoyed to the Sydney Hospital, where he was admitted in a serious condition, suffering from a fractured spine.
