THE TURKS IN PERSIA. INHABITANTS OF TABRIZ HANGED. United Press (Association. (Received 8.40 a.m.) Petrograd, February 2. The Bourse Gazette says the Turks plundered Tabriz and burned the bazaar before the evacuation. Many Persians for refusing to supply provision were banged. Tabriz is the capital of the province of Azerbaijan, Persia, and a great commercial centre, being formerly tin' chief emporium for the trade of Persia in the west, much of which is now diverted by the railway through the Caucasus. ft is noted for its orchards and gardens.
