MATTHEWS, CAMLiN AND CO. Matthews, Gamlin and Co. report a fair yarding at their Jnglewood yards iast Wednesday. Store and forward cattle were a little easier, owing to the works being temporarily congested. We disposed of the majority of the stock yarded at the following prices : Springing heifers £5 10s to £6 15s, cows £5 to £5 17s 6d, store cows £3 ,8s to £4 7s 6d, forward do. £5 5s to £6 2s 6d, fat do. £7 5s to £7 15s, bulls £5 to £7 15s, good 20 month Jersey heifers £3 2s to £2 19s 6d, 18 month heifers £2 to, £2 4s, woolly lambs ]ls. cull do. 7.s 6d, ewes and lambs 17s.
NEWTON KING'S REPORT. , On Monday, 25th, at my Ureniii yards, J had a full yarding of cattle with a good attendance of buyers. A good number of fatvcattle came forward, the quality of winch, however,. was not up to previous yardings, there being very few prime cows yarded. Pi-ices on fats showed a decline on recent sales, due, of course, to the congestion in all the freezing works in the Dominion. Farmers generally will be pleased to. see the works in full swing again. Prices obtained were as follows :—Jersey 18 month heifers £2 18s, Shorthorn 20 month empty heifers £3 3s 6d to £3 10s, younger cattle £2 2s Ito £2 lGs, 2 and 2} year steers £4 17s, 20 month steers in good demand £3 lis to £4 2s, small cattle and rough £2 14s 6d to £.'3 9s Gd, springing heifers £4 7s Gd to £5 15s, yearling bulls £1 17s Gd to £3 ss, heavy bulls £7 -3s to £ll, fat cows, mostly small, £7 to £7 15s, forward cows £5 13s Gd to £7 ss, good store cows £4 10s to £5 16s, small framed cows £3 Is to £3 19s, 4 and G tooth wethers in forward condition l!)s 2d, mixed fat sheep 18s, forward to fat ewes 15s Id to 15s Bd, forward lambs lis Bd, good lambs 10s Gd, small 7s 9d, store pigs 31s, wearier pigs Bs.
At llahotu on Tuesday, 26th, 1 had a Fair entry, which sold as follows: VVeaner 'mils £1 8s to £1 15s, mixed weaiiers £1 os, weaner bulls £2, yearling bulls £3 3s, 20 month steers £4 os (;\ good line), springing heifers £o los, bulls £4 5s to £9 15s, fat cows £8 15s to £9, forward cows £6 to £7 Bs, store cows £4 2s to, £4 Bs, f.m. ewes 7s'9d.
