AN ATTACK ON CUZOW. GERMANS BAYONETTED FROM THE TRENCHES, United Prebi Ahrooiation Petrograd, January 26. i Prisoners state that Germans unexpectedly attacked Cuzow, in the Bzuia region, at daylight, because a mutinous spirit was evinced when a night attack was ordered. The Germans, four to eight deep, attacked a trench a 'mile long. The Russians retreated to their reserve trenches, whence they shelled their evacuated trenches until dark. Then they charged, bayonetting every German. The enemy lost 4000. | mostly killed. The Russians lost 800 killed and wounded.
GENERAL. Petrograd, January 26. Official: The Russians northward of Rawa destroyed an armored motor-car which was bombarding their position. Greater activity is noticeable among the Austrians at the Dukla and other passes in the Carpathians. German prisoners state that the German public are kept in ignorance of Russian victories in Bukovina. SERVIAN ARMY REINFORCED. Athens, January 26. Further contingents of Cossacks and considerable war materials have veinforced the Servian army.
