A SUSPICIOUS FIRE.

MAGISTERIAL INQUIRY AT NAPIER. Per Press Association. Napier, January 26. A Magisterial inquiry lasting two days into the circumstances attending the destruction by fire of the fancy goods and soft-drinks shops run by Richard Ridsdale, has concluded. The Magistrate’s verdict found that no evidence had been tendered from which it could be reasonably be inferred that either Mrs or Miss Ridsdale intentionally caused the fire; that the insurance on the stock and fittings (£850) greatly exceeded the value at the time of the fire"; and that the stock and fittings, which had been insured five years’ previously had never been reinspected or revalued on behalf of the insurance company.
