Sir John Eldon Bankes succeeds the lato Sir William Kennedy as Lord of Appeal, states a London cablegram. Sir John Millais's grandson; who was the original "Bubbles," has not been killed in Belgium. It is Brevet. Major George Millais James, of Buffs, who was unfortunately killjed, but AVillie James, who is now commander of the battleship Queen Mary, and is the original of the famous picture, is still alive. He was out in New Zealand some years ago, and made many friends here.
