THE COLONIAL SUGAR COMPANY (Received 9.50 a.m.) Sydney, January 25. The Commissioner, in refusing the Colonial Sugar Company's application to increase the price of sugar, point, ed out that the Company/ produced SB',Q69 tons of sugar in New ■ South Wales and Queensland, and purchaset 189,801 tons for refining purposes therefore, it appeals that if there was any increase in the price of sugar produced in Queensland, the compam would receive the whole of the increase, and only one-sixth of the canegrowers of Queensland would receive any benefit from the increase of the selling price.
