"W: M. BAYLY AND CO'S REPORT. ..' On. Wednesday last we held) our usual monthly sale. Our catalogue was rather smaller than usual, but keen Competition ruled for all the; various lines. Wool.—Very little variation from last sale. Sheepskins..—These advanced slightly, the advance being particularly noticed in lambi skins. Hides were most keenly sought after. Pr%ses advanced Id on .last sale. Tallow showed slight* advance. We quote.—Wool in bales,, crossbred, stained, B|d to Bfd;-stained and seedy, 8&d; bags fine crossbred B£d to 0d; coarse crossbred,. 8d to B£d; dead, 7id. I
Sheepskins.—Butchers' full; wools, 7fd- to Bj-d, half wools Gd to 7}d, lambs 7|d, salted pelts 2s to 2s Gd; settlers? salted pelts Is Id to 2s. Hides.—.Butchers' cow, average 5U lbs., 9fd's' butchers' cow.) average 42 lbs., did; settlers' cow, average 31 lbs., 9Jd. Calfskins, medium, lid. to Is; cow tails Is Gd, per dozen, tallow in casks (medium) 21s 3d, tins (.superior) 20s. Onr next sale will be held on 10th February.
