A FORMAL VERDICT.

Dunedin, January 17,

An inquest was held to-day touching the death of Geo. Williams, the youth who died as tho result of a gunshot wound sustained whilst shooting rabbits at Waiati on Sunday. Deceased, who was seventeen years of age, was with his younger brother and a young man, when in some unexpected way—neither of Ids companions was looking at the time—his gun exploded and the charge entered Ids stomach, causing instantaneous death. The coroner returned a formal verdict.
