THE TIDES. High water at New Plymouth today at 10.8 a.m. and 10.28 p.m.; tomorrow at 10.46 a.m. and 11.2 p.m. THE SUN. The sun rises to-day at 4.47 a.m. and sets at 7.15 p.m.; to-morrow the sun rises at 4.48 a.m. and sets at 7.12 p.m. EXPECTED ARRIVALS. Rarawa, from North, Saturday. Poherua, from South, early. Rarawa, from North, Tuesday. The Poherua arrived at 5 p.m. on Thursday from Wellington with 200 tons of general cargo. The vessel left at 10.30 the same evening for Greymouth. The Joan Craig arrived at 6 p.m. on Wednesday evening, from Newcastle direct, and berthed at 1.30 on Thursday afternoon. She is landing her cargo of 108 poles' and 7000 sleepers for the local tramways.
The schooner H'. D. Bendixsen left at noon yesterday for Wangamii, at wliich port she will discharge the balance of her load of timber.
