NEWTON KINC'S REPORT. On Monday, 11th inst., at my TJ.reiuii yards, 1 had a full yarding of cattle and a fetv pens of sheep. Fat co\\\s were yarded in smaller numbers than, at recent sales, the demand being much in excess of the supply, prices being consequently very high. A lino of nice 3i year forward bullocks was yarded by Messrs Willison Bros, from their Marakopa property, these meeting with keen competition, realising £ll and £ll 5s for the more forward cattle and the others at £lO Is. Other prices were: 18 month steers (good) £4 os to £3 12s 6d, yearling steers £2 15s, 2 to 2 J year steers £5 £4 16s, Jersey 3J year steers £7 '6s, 18'month heifers £2 2s to'£2 16s 6d, store cows £3 10s to £5 16s, fat cows, mostly light framed, ..£9 6s to £6 6s, fat heifers £7 16s to £'9 15s, ibulls (exceptionally strong in-iuiry) £9 10s to £l4, springing heifers £5 5s to £5 15s, weaner pigs 13s and'l3s 6d, slips £1 0s 6d, stores £1 13s, forward ewes lis 6d to 15s, mixed owes and wethers 16s 6d.

On Tuesday, 12th, at Eahotu, I.had a good entry, all of which I was able to clear at satisfactory prices, the demand for all classes being good. 15 and 18 month steers made £3 13s 6d to £3 8s 6d, rougher £3 4s, 15 and 18 month heifers £2 3s to £2 lis, 2 year steers £4 4s, . stag £8 12s 6d, heavy bull £l4 15s, 18 month bulls £3 10s to £4 10s, weaner pigs (good) 14s to 16s, springing heifers £5 4s, fat cows £8 10s to £lO 10s, forward cows £6 10s to £7, good store cows £4 17s to £5 18s, fair sorts £3 10s to £4 13s, small cows £2 18s 6d to £3 Bs. Private sales as follows: —15 and 18 month steers £3 17s to £2 10s, 18 month Shorthorn heifers to make a drive of 350, £3 3s to £2 ss, Jersey 18 month* heifers (choice) £3 5s to £4 ss. 2i to 3 year steers ; .,£6 tfaho £4 TO's, 3i year bullocks £8 15s, ."forward Cows £6 5s to £6 17s 6d, store cows £*> to £5 12s (3d, rows and calves £7 10s, working bullocks £ls, springing heifers £5, rams for canning 13s (5d to 17s 6d, fat lambs 15s, fat ewes 19s to 10s, fat mixed sheep 18s 6d to 23s Gd, fat wethers 23s to 20s, fat woolly wethers 255, 2 tooth ewes 16s 6d to 14s sd, 2 tooth wethers 16s 6d to 15s, 4 tooth wethers £1 to 18s 4d, mixed 2 tooths 15s and 15s 6d, ewes and lambs.32s to 21s, f.m. ewe s 13s 6d to 9s Id.
