The Stratford men at the Trentham camp continue exuberantly well and mildly happy, according to a private letter received from one of them. The writer continues: "We are now on our third lieutenant—Lieutenant Bishop, who takes charge of us as a result of the reorganisation of the force. We are still all together, though we are in 1) Company, tour of the six platoons of which are supplied by Otago men. As to our new Lieutenant, there are distinct signs 'that he will he well liked."

i The camp at Trentham has recently been re-organised, the third reinforcements being amalgamated into one augmented battalion in place of a ■ North Island battalion and South IsI land battalion as previously. This has, perhaps, been found necessary or dc- , sirahle owing to the large number of fourth reinforcements now on the , ground, in addition to Samoa relief men. (People sending letters should be very careful to state to which of these throe classes their friends belong.) The third reinforcements battalion, as reorganised at present, consists of four companies of six platoons each (as against the usual four). Tt does not follqw, however, that" the pre- ', sent is the final form of the force. V
