THE EDEN SEAT. Per Press AssociationAuckland, January 14. So petition has been lodged in conlection with the election of Mr Parr o the Eden seat, and the returning Picei- states that this is the last day »u which a petition can be lodged. A solicitor’s clerk waited on the returning officer to-day, and intimated that a >etition might possibly be lodged tomorrow. The solicitors for those who might possibly lodge the petition consider that to-morrow is the last day lfor lodging petitions. Should the peti•ion be lodged to-morrow, the return-, ng officer stated that he will take legal idvice before accepting or refusing it. THE TAUMARUNUI SEAT. A petition will be lodged this week .states the News) praying that the Jection of Mr W. T. Jennings, as representative of Taumarunui, be upset. >n tire declared results Mr Jennings lefeated the sitting member, Mr C. K. Wilson, by 200 odd votes.
