PERSONAL.
Dr. Miura, head of the Japanese commercial delegation, is interviewing businessmen and officers in connection with the expansion of the Japanese-Australian trade. Later (states the cables) Dr. Miura intends visiting the other States and New Zealand for the same purpose. Adjutant Cook, from the Workmen’s Home, Auckland, and who previously was at the lloto Roa Island, which is used for the reformation of inebriates, succeeds Adjutant Tatton in charge of the Stratford Corps of the Salvation Army.' He arrived yesterday. and is now meeting friends in the district. Lieutenant Mattingley. from Waipawa, who is acting as assistant, has also arrived in Stratford. Adjutant Tatton remains in Stratford until Tuesday morning next, when he leaves for his new location at Waihi.
