REPORT OF COMMISSIONER. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright! United Press Association. Washington, January 14. The Commissioner of General Immigration reports that Hindu immigration is causing much-'concern in the United States, owing to the resulting economic disturbance. If the Hindus are allowed to enter the Pliillipines freely he doubts whether they will not thence be able to enter the United States without restrictions. He refers to the utter failure of the attempts to Americanise Hawaii, owing to the numbers of Japanese and other -aliens, and recommends that urgent steps be’ taken with this purpose in view. A million Europeans are now yearly entering America, and the number is likely to be largely increased after the war.
