MARLOW BEFORE THE COURT. REMAND TILL FRIDAY. At tlu; Magistrate's Court this dioniing, before Mr S. Ward. A I’., I'hh!erick Maurice Marlow was charged with having received two sums of money, one in July and the other in August, 1913, and having failed to account for same to the Clerk of the Court, Stratford. Sergeant Dale, who represented the police,, asked for a remand till the 15th January, which was granted. Accused was not represented by counsel.

The warrant for the accused’s arrest was issued in August, 1913, owing to his having disappeared without accounting for the sum if £sl 9s 4d received by hhu as bailiff, under a distress warrant issued out of the Magistrate’s Court at Marton. Sergeant Bird, who has been on relieving duty at Rangiora, noticed a man going nndpr the name of George Green who had been in the place four mouths, cud who answered to the description of Marlow, and on the Bth inijt. ho arrestid Marlow, who ultimately admitted his identity. Marlow, previous to taking up his abode at Rangiora, had vorked at White Rock Station for several months laying out the grounds unrounding Mr C. H. Ensor’s resilence, and at Rangiora he found employment with a local firm as an outude salesman.
