“STEW, IN HER OWN JUICE.” PRESIDENT WILSON’S LATEST POLICY DECLARATION. [By Electric Telegraph—Copyright] Unlteu P&BBfc Association. Washington, January 11. President Wilson, in a speech at Indianopolis, produced a commotion in political circles by declaring that as far as he was concerned Mexico might continue to “stew in her own juice.” The European Powers could spill as much blood as they pleased in settling their affairs, and Mexico should have the same freedom. He was proud to belong to a great nation that says: “This is a country that we could crush, hut its people shall have as much freedom in its own affairs as we have.”
