T Company performed evolutions By p toons, and also carried out rifle ext cises, the whole of their work showi a smartness and finish that reflected : finite credit on their officers an&ffl structors.
After the exercises the Company \\ formed into a square of platoons, a short addresses were given.
RETURN OF THE MAUNGANUI Dunedin, January 11, Three invalided troopers returned 1 the Maunganui, which arrived at Po Chalmers to-day. One of the. tri Trooper Kelk, of Auckland, was i capitated through getting his hail badly injured while trying to stop vicious horse from pawing him. Th first time the horse rusned film, Trooj er Kelk gave it a smashing blow on th mouth, but as he was backing awa to avoid the second rffsh the auinu sent him flying against the stanchion! Trooper Kelk fears his hand may hav to be amputated.
