'l'ho “Manchester Guardian” of November 14th gives figures to show where the answer to the call to,, the colors has been best responded to. Birmingham, of the great cities, .appears to have contributed most liberally to the forces of the Crown. Plymouth seems to have don© badly, but it is to be remembered that there the appeal of the navy is greater than that of the army.
