The people are told that the supplies are intended to combat the speculation by merchants. | ILL-TREATMENT OF BOHEMIANS. Times and Sydney Sun Services. London, January 8. Eighteen hundred Bohemians deserted from the Austrian army during a recent battle in Bosnia. The Austrians recaptured forty, hound their hands and legs, and paraded them in the streets at Budapest, the crowd throwing refuse and heating tlnm with sticks.
COMPLAINTS OF SACRIFICE TO GERMANY. DISPOSED TO A SEPARATE PEACE (Received 9.15 a.m.) Paris, January 8. According to a well-informed Rome correspondent to the “Petit Parisian,” Austria is complaining more and more that she is being. sacrificed by Germany, and she is disposed to secure a separate peace even at a heavy price.
