AJlpii referred to the sugegs.tion by the London Times that the Imperial Conference shoulfl be held tins year. Mr Allen said he agreed with the Right Hon. Fisher as to the necessity for Ministers' in Great Britain, paying official ?sss pP the Domiiiiqns. He also thought jlmpQijaj Conferences shoujfj he held more frequently than in the past. He did not think a conferen.ce should be hold this year, unless Britain asked for it without pressure from the pnt'.ying portions of the Empire. He thought that at present Imperial Ministers should be left free to carry out the important works on hand. He also thought the Prime Minister should not be absent from the post of duty in New Zealand at present.. In fact, he did not, think any Mnn'ster could be spared just now. There would be splendid material for the next Imperial Conference to build its new work on, and he and he hoped the edifice erected would he one,, proving thp sol'.la.ily of tho Empire. At present we required faith in the controlling authority at Home, trust in their judgment, and a firm belief that they would act *l) the best Interests of the Empire. Nothing must be done to distract them, or take their minds away fro the cblossa! task in hand.
