OBITUARY.
HERBERT B. CURTIS. - •; It .is.with.much regret we h record the decease of Mr Herb Curtis, J.P., Inglewood's oldes dential settler, member of tht while substantial firm of Curti thers, and for three years Ma Inglewood,' who died unexpected evening. Mr Curtis had been for a few days, but not sufficiei cause any uneasiness until a few before his collapse, and his end therefore, as a great shock to a knew him. The late Mr Curtis was born year 1852 at Omata, and was ed at New Plymouth. At the time Native disturbances he went wi father's family to Nelson witl Taranaki refugees, but returnee teen months later to Omata. m second outbreak of hostilities, .% his share at defence duty, and 1 a Lieutenant of volunteers, quently Mr Curtis took up f« on his.own account at Okato, am became one of the pioneer sett) Inglewood. Stratford, in the well-known h\ fimi of Curtis Bros. In the yea Mr Curtis married*' a daughter late Mr T. Larson, of Inglewow survives him with a family of daughters and two sons. Mud pathy will be expressed throi Taranaki with the family in, bereavement.
